Canon Powershot SX70 at the beach 30 March 2019

A brisk  offshore wind blew up this afternoon so I took the SX70 down to the beach.

This cleaned up the waves for the boardriders and kept salt spray off my lens.

When I tried this a few years ago with the SX60 the experience was not a happy one. I could not persuade the camera to focus on the boardriders at all.

The SX70 works much better giving a much higher percentage of decent shots.

I even had a go at BIF with the terns which were swooping and diving between the surfers.

I got a few frames with the bird in frame and decently in focus. Results are good enough for species identification and small print output.
